Penni received her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where her concentration was mental health and children and youth. Past positions include Program Director for the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America in St. Louis; Learning Strategist for a school for atypical learners called Metropolitan School; and Mental Health Coordinator at a Level IV locked facility for seriously emotionally disturbed children called Child Center of Our Lady.  Penni relocated from St. Louis to Barnwell, South Carolina, as a recipient of a National Health Service Corp grant, to work with mentally ill individuals in an underserved area.  Before joining Hope Haven in November, Penni worked as an advisor at a therapeutic adolescent boarding school in Virginia.  Penni is happy to be back in South Carolina, and resides in Port Royal.
